Alcan Cable Announces Manufacturing Material Cost Adjustments for Steel Core Wire
5/30/2008
To Whom It May Concern
Re: Manufacturing Material Cost Adjustments for Steel Core Wire
Effective June 1, 2008, the wire and cable industry will be subject to major increases in prices for steel core wires used in the manufacture of ACSR, ACSS and certain overhead service drop conductors. These cost adjustments, implemented by the major manufacturers of steel core wires, are the result of increases in basic raw material costs primarily driven by rising commodity and energy prices.
In light of these increases, Alcan Cable will implement contract price adjustments on all conductors impacted. These price adjustments will be effective for all shipments made on or after June 2, 2008.
Sincerely,
Chad A. Gallentine National Director of Sales U.S. Distribution
