Alcan Cable, a Division of Rio Tinto Alcan Engineered Products, achieved a safety milestone at their Roseburg, Oregon manufacturing facility on February 17, 2008 by completing one year of operation without a recordable accident. The dedication and focus of all Roseburg plant personnel to Alcan Cable’s Environment, Health and Safety program is also attributed to the achievement of 890 days of operation without a Lost Time Accident (LTA).

To celebrate the occasion, plant management hosted a dinner to honor all employees. The event was attended by Alcan Cable Division Management and customers located in the Pacific Northwestern U.S.

“The significant safety milestones achieved at the Roseburg facility are the direct result of the focus and support of our employees to Alcan Cable’s EHS program”, said Ian Hewett, President, Alcan Cable.

Each employee was presented a jacket by Roseburg Plant Manager, Sean Milner, in appreciation of their dedication and efforts in making the Roseburg site a safe place to work.

The Roseburg plant manufactures aluminum bare overhead cable, low voltage insulated service cable and building wire products for the utility, residential and commercial construction markets. As a recognized supplier of wire and cable to the Pacific Northwest and Western U.S., the Roseburg facility is responsive to the needs of its many customers, which include public power, electrical distributors and investor owned utilities.
