Alcan Cable Announces Price Increase Effective Sepember 20, 2005

Confronted with significant increases in material costs, such as resin and fuel, which can no longer be absorbed by Alcan Cable, we are announcing a list price increase on all Aluminum Cable products, with the exception of Stabiloy® MC Cable, effective Tuesday, September 20, 2005.
The approximate amount of this increase is as follows:
- Bare Conductor products 3.5%
- Service Conductor products 5.5%
- Building Wire products 5.0%
