Service Conductors

 Alcan Cable produces a full range of overhead line wire, neutral supported overhead service drop and 600V underground cables for the low voltage distribution network. Neutral Supported Service Drop cables have neutrals that range from ACSR , AAC and 6201-T81 alloy depending on ice and wind loads and corrosion from salt spray near coastal areas. Standard 600V underground cable is offered in cross linked polyethylene in sizes #6 AWG-1000kcmil as single conductor, duplex, triplex and quadruplex configurations per ICEA S-105-692 and UL 854. . Ruggedized 600V underground cable is provided with ALHIDE® (90°C) and ALGUARD® (75°C) continuous ratings in ruggedized constructions to mitigate mechanical damage during installation. Ruggedized cables are available in single layer and dual layer configurations per ICEA S-81-576. We also offer a 2KV RHH/RHW wind farm cable, Zephyr2000™, to provide service from the pole to the distribution transformer feeding the collector grid.
